24 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed, one further death

The latest figures have been released.

The Department of Health has confirmed that one person has died in relation to Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, while 24 new cases of the virus have been confirmed.

There has been a total of 1,742 Covid-19 related deaths in the country.

The latest figures mean that there has now been a total of 25,538 confirmed cases of Covid-19 confirmed in the Republic of Ireland. 

The Department of Health also announced the denotification of 17 confirmed cases. The figure of 25,538 confirmed cases reflects this update.

These figures were released the day after the launching of Ireland’s Covid Tracker App.

The app is intended to be used as an additional measure to the traditional testing and tracing system already in place, and has been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times already.
