25 people have been injured, four severely, after an explosion destroyed a building in the German city of Wuppertal.

The explosion happened in an apartment building.
Thankfully, several residents managed to escape after the blast occurred. Others were trapped though and needed to be rescued by the local fire brigade.
DW have reported that local police said: “It can currently not be ruled out that there are still other people in the building. The rescue efforts are ongoing.”
Police described the scene as a “picture of devastation” and the cause of the blast was not immediately clear.
