The great escape.
Monkeys that were being used in a research facility have escaped from the Carribbean Primate Research Centre in Tao Baja, Puerto Rico.
The monkeys managed to escape yesterday morning after a lock was broken on their enclosure at the facility.
Our money is on some monkey mischief here.
The lab, which was developed in the 1930’s uses the monkeys to study human diseases but the owners must be going bananas right now.
The authorities have been alerted to the escape, but at present none of the monkeys have been found.
Puerto Rico has had a problem in the past with wild apes that have escaped from the facility and it seems that the animal rescue people must be going ape.
Hat-tip to The Independent.
