The latest Covid vaccination figures have been released.

As of last Saturday (27 February), 434,983 Covid vaccinations have been given out across the country.

According to figures released by the HSE, this figure is made up of 293,638 first doses and 141,345 second doses.

49,809 people aged 85 years and older have received their first vaccine dose.

While the target for that entire week was for 100,000 doses to be administered, just 81,012 doses were completed by Saturday.

It has since emerged that the 100,000 target for last week won’t be met due to two delivery issues with 25,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

However, the HSE said that it remains on target to administer the first dose of Covid-19 vaccines to those aged 85 and over by the end of the first week of March.

It said that 96% of what is available has been administered across the country.

Meanwhile, in Northern Ireland 558,597 vaccines have been administered, of which 525,400 were first doses and 33,197 were second doses.

Up north, people who are aged 60-64 can now book a Covid-19 vaccine online here

Monday night saw some positive news come from Ronan Glynn, with the Deputy CMO saying that in the 24 hours leading up to the briefing, Ireland had no new admissions to critical care, the first time this has happened since St. Stephen’s Day.
