At least there is no cold water involved.

You may remember the very welcome news that the funds raised by the Ice Bucket Challenge have helped to fund the development of a protein stimulant which has the potential to help people that are living with Lou Gehrig’s disease.

The Internet has a new social media trend though and it’s aiming to have similar positive effect.

The #22PushUpChallenge has become incredibly popular online with various celebrities taking on the challenge to raise awareness for military veterans in the USA.

Here’s Rio Ferdinand’s effort.

According to the fundraising website, 22 military veterans die by suicide in the United States everyday.

The organisation 22Kill was started in 2013 in an effort to understand this statistic and to try and “bridge the gap between civilians and veterans”.

Their goal is to achieve a collective 1 million push-ups and at the present moment, over 750,000 have been recorded.

Hollywood heavyweights like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, John Krasinski, Chris Pratt, Chris Evans, Scott Eastwood and Anna Faris have been supporting the #22PushUpChallenge by recording themselves and posting the workout online.

Ludacris, after nominating Snoop Dogg, did his #22PushUpChallenge in front of a huge crowd, and although he may have miscounted, the audience absolutely loved it.

If you’re proud of your upper-body strength then you might fancy recording your efforts.
