The incident occurred early on Wednesday morning.
A man is being treated in hospital following a stabbing incident in Galway city centre.
The incident occurred at approximately at 03:30 on Francis Street on Wednesday and Gardaí are investigating.
A man in his 20s was taken to University Hospital Galway with serious, but non life threatening injuries.
Francis Street has now reopened following a technical examination.
Investigations are ongoing.
