8 more Covid-19 related deaths confirmed in Northern Ireland

This brings the total death toll in Northern Ireland to 56.

Eight more people have died in connection with Covid-19 in Northern Ireland in the past 24 hours.

As well as this, 94 more positive cases were confirmed, bringing the total number of confirmed cases up north to 998.

In the past 24 hours, 509 more people were tested for Covid-19 in Northern Ireland.

41 people in Northern Ireland have died in the past seven days in relation to Covid-19.

Saturday’s figures from the United Kingdom saw another 708 people die after testing positive for coronavirus.

This includes the youngest ever UK victim aged five, taking the UK’s Covid-19 death toll to 4,313.

An update on the situation in the Republic of Ireland is expected on Saturday evening.
