The incident happened on the Terenure Road at 5.25am this morning.

A 15-year-old boy is in Garda custody following the hijacking of a taxi in Dublin in the early hours of Sunday morning. The teenager reportedly hailed a taxi on the Terenure Road before holding threatening the 36-year-old driver with a knife. He demanded money before telling the taxi driver to get out of the car, which sped off in the direction of the city centre. The boy was eventually apprehended by Gardaí after the taxi crashed into another vehicle on the Old Cabra Road around 5.45am. Nobody was injured and the accused was taken to Rathmines Garda Station.
