Paul Moore

Great boost to the area.

It’s being reported that An Bord Pleanála have granted planning permission for the construction of a new the €232 million Center Parcs holiday village in Ballymahon, Co Longford. The developers are planning to build 470 lodges, 30 apartments, a spa, shops, restaurants, cafes, and a water theme park with slides.

Longford County Council conditionally approved the development last February but the official conformation was delayed due to a number of appeals that were lodged by  local residents.

After deliberation, the appeals were not upheld and RTE are reporting that Center Parcs UK are currently considering the new conditions that are being imposed.

The development, which is hoping to accommodate 2,500 people, is scheduled to be completed in 2019 if approved.
