A pretty menacing looking hornet appears to have reared its ugly head in Limerick. Luckily, he didn’t last long and died pretty quickly after arriving on our shores.
Asian hornets are a particularly vicious little breed of creature, and are known to behead bees. Not only that, but people can go into anaphylactic shock and die after being stung by the blighters.
These photos, taken by Wez McMahon, appear to show the carcass of one such hornet in Limerick city. Bee afraid, bee very afraid.
