We knew it was expensive but this puts it into context.
Anyone that’s been on a night out in Dublin recently ever will know that it can be murder on the old wallet.
In some places, your trip to the bar looks a little something like this (using Euro of course).
A survey by Post Office Travel Money has put things into a little more context by comparing an exact round of drinks in a number of European capital cities.
The round is as follows: bottle of beer, a bottle of lager, a glass of white wine, a glass of champagne, a shot of Southern Comfort, a cocktail, a gin and tonic, a rum and coke, a scotch and soda and a dry Martini.
Dublin is the most expensive city to buy that round with the cost coming in at €77, with Budapest coming in the cheapest at €28.
The round was pretty cheap in Prague where the drinks all cost €36.21, while Riga in Latvia was decent at €47.55.
Moving a little bit closer to home, you can buy the round in Amsterdam for €57.67, while Paris was pricey enough at €66.50.
Anyone up for a trip to Budapest?
