Sick of sitting around the house bored out of your mind? Then why not check out these three Action Packed activities located around Ireland…

If you fancy getting out of the house for a day to do something that you won’t forget in a hurry, then these awesome activities will most definitely leave you wanting more with thanks to MSL.

1. Have the craic and see some cool cars at the Tullamore Cannonball Festival

If you like Supercars, Soap Box Derbies, Vintage Threshing, American Cars, Live Music and Late Bars, well then the Tullamore Cannonball Festival is the perfect festival for you. Taking place on the 13 – 14 September 2014 in County Offaly it promises to be a weekend of serious craic.

There will be live music too in various parts of the town outdoors which will ensure a great buzz in Tullamore all weekend. There are a number of bars which have obtained late licences from the Thursday to the Sunday to help you enjoy yourself into the wee hours.

Some beer, some live music, some vintage cars and loads of other stuff? Yes please! For more information click here

2. Challenge your perception of finance, wealth and filthy lucre by heading to the Kilkenomics Economics Festival

If you’d like a better understanding of the economy, money in general and why Ireland collapsed on it’s face, but don’t want to be preached to and certainly don’t want your number crunched, this is the perfect festival for you.

Situated in the medieval city of Kilkenny, Ireland’s first economics festival, Kilkenomics, brings together some of the world’s leading economists, financial analysts and media commentators with some of our funniest, sharpest standup comedians.

So, basically, you will learn a bunch of cool stuff as well as being savagely entertained. It’s how education should be. This is one of the most popular new festivals in the country so the advice is to book early. Bloomberg described it as “Lenny Bruce meets John Maynard Keynes” whereas the the Sunday Times said “one of the oddest festivals anywhere, comedy with a pint and a point”

The festival takes place on November 6th-9th. For more information, click here.

3. Grab your flippers and snorkel, you’ve pulled! We’re off to the Irish Bog Snorkelling Championships.

To the hard of understanding, we must clarify that this is not swimming around a toilet bowl. This is a brilliant weekend festival in Castleblaney, County Monaghan. The 2014 Irish Bog Snorkelling Championships challenges participants to swim a 120 metre strip of bog using snorkel and flipper power only in the fastest time possible. Based outside Castleblayney in County Monaghan, this unique event ticks all the boxes for anyone who wants a challenge.

What’s not to love? Lying face down in a big long puddle and being cheered on by a supportive crowd and then enjoying the delights of Castleblaney and it’s surrounding areas afterwards. To make it feel even more of a festival, why not pitch a tent on the designated campsite? You haven’t seen Ireland till you’ve seen it from two feet of water.

It happens on September 14th to the 16th and more details can be seen here
