Actor and comedian Brendan Grace has died, aged 68

His family have stated that he passed away peacefully.

Actor and comedian Brendan Grace has died, aged 68, as reported by RTE News.

Grace is perhaps best known for his scene-stealing turn as Father Fintan Stack from Father Ted, but is also well-known for the characters he created during his stand-up comedy performances, such as Bottler and Father Of The Bride.

Grace began his career in entertainment over 50 years ago, starting off as a singer, before discovering his natural talents for comedy.

He had been set to tour Ireland this summer before being diagnosed with cancer, and his family have stated that they are very grateful for the support from fans all over the world since his illness was announced.

Brendan Grace is survived by his wife Eileen, their children, and their grandchildren.
