The incident took place on Friday.
Gardaí in Lusk, Dublin are investigating following an aggravated burglary that took place at a house on the Whitestown Road in Rush.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday morning, 23 August.
According to Gardaí, two men entered the house and assaulted the home owner before leaving with an undisclosed sum of money.
The injured man was subsequently taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment.
No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
