Woman in her 90s robbed during aggravated burglary in Roscommon

A man in his 60s was also injured during the burglary.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following an aggravated burglary in a business premises in Roscommon on Monday (22 August).

The Roscommon Herald reports that a 94-year-old woman and her two sons were the victims of the robbery.

The burglary occurred at a business premises in Ballintober in the early hours of Monday morning.

A man in his mid 60s was injured during the burglary, but did not require medical attention, and his injuries were non-life threatening.

The culprits made off with a sum of cash following the incident.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Ashpark, Ballintober between 10pm on Sunday night (21 August), and 1am on Monday morning to contact investigating Gardaí.

Any road users who were in the area and who may have camera footage, including dash cam, is asked to make this available.
