The passenger was detained by police once the plane arrived at its destination.

An airline passenger screamed “I am God” and allegedly attempted to open a cabin door during a United Express flight that eventually landed in Boise, Idaho in the United States on Monday.

According to the Idaho Statesman, a female passenger was subdued by passengers after she was heard repeatedly screaming “I am God” and attempted to open a cabin door during the flight; the passenger was met by law enforcement officials upon arrival in Boise and turned over to state health officials.

Video footage taken on board the flight shows the woman, who was sat in first class on the flight from San Francisco, shouting “I am God” before being subdued and having her feet tied together.

In a statement, a spokesperson for SkyWest, who operated the United Express flight, said: “SkyWest flight 5449, operating as United Express from San Francisco to Boise, landed safely in Boise after reports of a customer attempting to open the aircraft door.

“The customer was restrained and law enforcement officials met the flight at the gate, where all passengers safely deplaned. The unruly customer was held for questioning by law enforcement.”
