Aldi also revealed the busiest shopping periods in its stores, with customer footfall peaking on afternoons from Thursday to Saturday.

Aldi Ireland has announced that its stores across the Republic of Ireland will return to normal opening hours from this Thursday (7 May).

From Thursday, standard store opening hours of 9am-10pm Monday to Friday and 9am-9pm Saturday and Sunday will be reintroduced in 142 Aldi stores throughout the country.

Opening hours in stores in Ireland had been temporarily shortened to help support staff who had been working to meet heightened demand during the Covid-19 emergency.

Analysis of shopping patterns in Aldi revealed that trading patterns have started to settle, prompting the decision to reintroduce regular shopping hours.

That analysis also extended to the busiest and quietest periods in Aldi stores as shoppers have changed habits in recent weeks.

9-11am and after 7pm on Sunday to Wednesday tend to be quieter in Aldi stores in Ireland, while Thursday to Saturday are the busiest days of the week, with peak customer footfall between the hours of 12-6pm.
