Alex Jones has been permanently banned from Twitter

He's gone for good.

Right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has been permanently banned from Twitter.

Twitter announced the news through a series of tweets on Friday night.

Jones and his company Info Wars are said to have breached Twitter's abusive behaviour policy.

In one of the tweets, Twitter said: "As we continue to increase transparency around our rules and enforcement actions, we wanted to be open about this action given the broad interest in this case. We do not typically comment on enforcement actions we take against individual accounts for their privacy.

They went on to say that they may not be finished banning accounts related to Jones and his company.

Jones has previously been banned by Facebook for 30 days, and had a number of his videos pulled down by YouTube.

One video that remains on YouTube is of Jones trying to convince his millions of viewers that the American government were poisoning their water with something a chemical that would turn consumers gay.
