The latest vaccination figures have been released.

The latest HSE Covid-19 vaccination figures show that 150,500 first doses have been administered up to the end of January.

There also have been 49,300 second doses administered, meaning 199,800 doses have been administered in total.

Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly tweeted the figures out on Monday afternoon, saying: “Thanks to the on-going efforts of our brilliant vaccination teams, the Ambulance Service, the Defence Forces and many others right across the HSE, by yesterday we had administered almost 200k vaccines.”

Donnelly had previously said that daily vaccine figure updates would be provided each night from 25 January onwards, though this has not been the case so far.

Earlier in the day, it emerged that Ireland is set to be given an extra 750,000 doses of Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine in the second quarter of the year, according to the EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

She confirmed that the EU will receive 75 million of additional doses in the second quarter of the year.

Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 patients in hospitals across the country has increased slightly to 1,529 people, while the number in intensive care units has reduced to 207.

Sunday night saw 1,247 confirmed cases of Covid-19 confirmed, while a further 15 deaths were been recorded.
