A good egg.

A bin man in Romania working at waste company Panda’s recycling centre came across a big amount of cash recently.

The exact sum was €1,500 and it was found in stuffed into a shoe that was thrown on a mound of rubbish.

The man who found it, Costica Nedelcu, didn’t just pocket the cash. He reported it to his manager and they set about finding the person who obviously misplaced it.

After some investigation, they traced the money back to a woman in her eighties living in the local area. The women, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, hide the cash in the shoe for safekeeping.

They were thrown out by her daughter, who was doing a bit of spring cleaning and tossed the shoes in a skip.

All’s well that ends well though as the €1,500 was safely returned back to her. There are some good people out there.

Hat-tip to Irish Mirror.
