With all the controversy surrounding the young girl taken from her family in a Dublin suburb, a fancy dress outfit was almost inevitable.

The case, and how it was handled, has come under the glare of the media after DNA tests prove the blonde-haired, blue-eyed schoolgirl taken from a gypsy couple was in fact their daughter.

Paul Ruane from Achill didn’t miss the opportunity to use the incident as fuel for his fancy dress outfit for Halloween, complete with fake tan, jewellery and a baby doll.

Irish folk using serious issues as creative ideas for a costume is nothing new and it wasn’t so long ago we saw these two young girls dressed up as the ‘Peru 2’.

Thankfully the girl has been reunited with her parents and we’re guessing Paul got plenty of attention for his eye-catching attire.

Hat-tip to Martin King on Facebook for sending this our way.
