Heche is being kept on life support to determine if her organs are viable.

The family of Anne Heche have said that she is not “expected to survive” injuries from the car crash that left in her in a coma.

The actress’ car crashed into a property in Mar Vista, Los Angeles last weekend, and it took 59 firefighters to extinguish the fire.

Heche was taken to a hospital, where she has been in a coma ever since. In a statement, her family have shared that she is unlikely to survive.

They said: “Unfortunately, due to her accident, Anne Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition. She is not expected to survive.

“It has long been her choice to donate her organs and she is being kept on life support to determine if any are viable.

“Anne had a huge heart and touched everyone she met with her generous spirit.

“More than her extraordinary talent, she saw spreading kindness and joy as her life’s work – especially moving the needle for acceptance of who you love.

“She will be remembered for her courageous honesty and dearly missed for her light.”

Anne Heche is best known for her roles in Donnie Brasco, Volcano, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Six Days, Seven Nights and Return to Paradise. She is also a director.
