The Café Bar in Swords has been in business for 23 years.
Wright’s Café Bar in Swords has announced that they will be closing their doors after 23 years.
The popular business will open for the last time on New Year’s Eve following over two decades in business.
The venue took to social media to reveal that they would be closing.
“The Café Bar will be closing its doors for the very last time,” they wrote.
“After 23 years of phenomenal success and multiple awards, it’s time for something different.
“Thank you to all our amazing customers, friends and staff who have made the Café Bar legendary over the years.
“We have loved making memories and celebrating the good times with you,” they continued.
“It’s the end of the Café Bar era, but… watch this space.
“Join us for the last dance this NYE before we close on January 1,” they concluded.
Customers shared their sadness and memories of the venue, with one mentioning it’s where they first met their partner.
One person said: “Some great memories of great nights and I’ve made lots of friends here over the years.”
Recognised as a premier late-night bar and live music venue, Wright’s Café Bar was also known for its gastro-bar food, specifically its famous fish and chips.
Everyone is invited to come along to the last dance on New Year’s Eve, and if you book a table and arrive before 10pm, customers will receive a bottle of bubbly on the house.
While it’s certainly the end of an era, it seems there may be something in the works for a new chapter at the location.
