Anton Ferdinand’s not-so-subtle dig at old enemy John Terry

In light of the Chelsea player’s father being charged with committing a racist attack, Anton Ferdinand’s tweet is as cutting as it gets.

In light of the Chelsea player’s father being charged with racially-aggravated assault, Anton Ferdinand’s tweet is as cutting as it gets.

You probably don’t need reminding about the enmity between the Ferdinand brothers and John Terry but just in case you do, here’s a quick synopsis.

Anton Ferdinand accused the Chelsea captain of racially abusing him in a QPR game in 2011. Terry escaped criminal charges but was charged by the FA and fined.

That led to all sorts of fall out including a rift between Terry and his England colleague Rio, brother of Anton, and it dragged in Ashley Cole for good measure too.

The heat has gone out of the issue in recent months but based on a tweet sent last night by Anton, the row is still simmering.

Terry’s father Ted was charged yesterday with two counts of racially-aggravated assault and that prompted this not-so-subtle tweet from Anton.
