Appeal for witnesses after cyclist seriously injured in Dublin collision

A male cyclist (20s) is in a serious condition in hospital after he was struck by a car on North Wall Quay in Dublin.

The driver of the car failed to remain at the scene following the collision.

The incident occurred around 10.30pm on Monday night and Gardaí from Store Street are appealing for witnesses to the serious collision.

A car understood to have been involved in the incident was recovered at Castleforbes Square a short time later by Gardaí.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and in particular to anyone who was in the area of the North Wall Quay, North Wall Avenue, East Wall Road, Sheriff Street Upper, Castleforbes Road or Castleforbes Square between 10.15pm and 10.30pm to come forward.

They are also appealing to road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) from the area at the time to make it available to them.

No arrests have been made at this time and investigations are ongoing.
