Appeal for witnesses following serious collision in Cork

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision that occurred in Cork on Saturday night.

The collision occurred on the R610 at Raffeen, Carrigaline, Cork when two cars collided head on around 9.15pm.

Three people (two drivers and one passenger) were taken from the scene of the collision to Cork University Hospital.

A 34-year-old male, the driver of the first car, is in critical condition and the driver and passenger of the second car, a 56-year-old male and a 17-year-old male, received non-life threatening injuries.

The road is currently closed as Forensic Collision Investigators are at scene and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the R160 at Raffeen, Carrigaline, Co. Cork between 9pm and 9.15pm last night, Saturday, 22 August, or anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed the collision.

They’re calling particularly on any road users with dash cam footage, to contact Togher Garda Station on 021 4947120, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
