Six people in custody after thousands of pounds stolen from ATM in Fermanagh

Police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

The theft of several thousands of pounds from an ATM in County Fermanagh has resulted in the arrest of six people.

The money was stolen from an ATM in a shop in Trory, located on the outskirts of Enniskillen, on Thursday morning between 1.30am and 5.30am.

It is believed that street lighting and alarm wires were cut prior to the thieves forcing their way into the premises.

Police in the Crossgar area later arrested five men and one woman with ages ranging between 22 and 51.

The six in question are currently being detained in custody.

“I am appealing for anyone with information that could help our investigation to please get in touch with us,” said Detective Inspector Trevor Stevenson.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been travelling on the Irvinestown Road between 1.30am and 5.30am on Thursday August 2nd.”
