Aussie PM patronises the Irish to within an inch of our lives for Paddy’s Day

Ah sure begob we're a great bunch of lads

Tony Cuddihy

Ah sure begob we’re a great bunch of lads.

Somebody on Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s speechwriting staff clearly had some trouble accessing the Ireland WikiPedia page last week, given how awkward his boss looks in this video.

Proudly displaying his green tie for the occasion and never quite figuring out what to do with his hands (although, in fairness, he may have been watching YouTube clips of Enda there), Abbott blithers on about songs and Guinness and, for some reason, how much the Vietnamese love a good knees-up.

But the English and the Scots made the laws and money, while we sang a few songs.

Ah here.
