The blazes continue to burn in Australia, with new bushfires expected this week.

The Dunmore Rural Fire Brigade, based in the New South Wales state of Australia, have posted a video on their Facebook page which shows the truly terrifying speed at which the bushfires can travel.

This week alone, the fires continued to blaze around the country. Authorities have issued an emergency warning for an uncontrolled bushfire in Bullsbrook, northeast of Perth, and a “watch and act” alert for a bush blaze near St Mary’s on Tasmania’s east coast.

The footage, recorded from a fire truck on 4 January but only posted this week, shows the fire brigade attempting to battle the blaze before being forced to leave the area once the fire has overtaken the entire road and the foliage on either side.

Not long after the firefighters have escaped from the area, all that remains is an inferno.

The Dunmore Rural Fire Brigade issued a statement in regard to the footage:

“This goes to show what happens in just over three minutes. The crew continues for another nine minutes on the ground bringing a massive positive outcome, with a complete safe crew, protected truck and property saved. People are reminded to adhere to the warnings when given from the appropriate services as this is not a pleasant place to be when a fire impacts at any time, especially at short notice.”
