Bad news if you’re travelling with Air France, their pilots are going on strike

Alan Loughnane

This could affect the travel plans of some fans.

A call for strike action has been issued by several airline pilot’s unions representing Air France pilots for the period from 11 to 14 June 2016.

This could have implications for any fans travelling to or from France with them during this period.

However, it’s important to note that Air France flights which are operated by an aircraft from other airlines will not be affected by the strike.

In a statement on their website, Air France said:

“It is too early to have a clear view of the outcome of these talks and the consequences of this strike action on our flight schedule.

As soon as we will have a more accurate estimate of the number of employees on strike and the impact on our operations, our flight schedule will be adapted accordingly and published the day before your departure.

Please note that Air France flights operated by an aircraft of other airlines, including HOP, KLM and Delta, are not affected by this strike. From this moment, we invite you to check your travel in the « Your reservations » section. If your flight is planned “operated by KLM”, or any other partner airline, the call for strike will not affect your journey.

If the flight is operated by Air France, we advise you, before going to the airport, to check flight information updated in real-time on our website, in the “Flight and airport info” section.

In the meantime, we would like to assure you that our teams are fully mobilized and will do their utmost to assist you and minimize the impact of this industrial action on your travel plans.

Nevertheless, without waiting, if you are travelling on a flight operated by Air France, we propose you to anticipate or postpone your departure to avoid the period from 11 to 14 June 2016 if you have the opportunity.”
