US President Barack Obama led an emotional tribute to those who died at a museum built on Ground Zero.

Speaking in underground hall where the last signs on the Twin Towers – some foundations and a retaining wall – remain, Obama said that the venue would become “this sacred place of healing and hope.”

With the three-year anniversary of the successful killing of Osama bin Laden taking place this week, Obama added that the memorial “reaffirms the true spirit of 9/11 – love, compassion, sacrifice, and enshrines it forever in the heart of our nation.

“I think all who come here will find it a profound and moving experience,” he said.
