Leo Varadkar said that he has ordered a clippers online and that will be his next haircut.
Barbers and hairdressers won’t open until “much later” than 5 March, it was announced earlier on Tuesday.
Leo Varadkar said that “personal services” including hairdressers and barbers will remain closed for weeks to come, and that he has ordered a clippers online for his next haircut.
Speaking on Tuesday afternoon, Varadkar said that he doesn’t want to give an exact date, but that it will “definitely” be later than 5 March.
“I can’t give a date unfortunately. I know we’re getting to the point where people are going to start needing haircuts… It’s not fair to give people an indication that they can pencil in a date.”
When asked if they may reopen by 5 March, he replied that it will be “much later” than that.

He also said that the Government is working on a revised version of the “Living with Covid-19” plan which will be announced in the week of 22 February.
This plan will determine what parts of the economy will reopen and when.
He said schools remain a priority and while the number of Covid-19 infections are coming down, they need to be lower for essential sectors, such as schools, to reopen.
The government is planning to reopen the construction industry on 5 March, according to Minister for Housing Darragh O’Brien.
