The 62-year-old was eliminated from the show alongside Maura Higgins last night.
Barry McGuigan has paid tribute to his late daughter following his exit from I’m A Celeb.
The former world featherweight champion was voted out in last night’s show alongside fellow Irish contestant, Maura Higgins.
Irish viewers have expressed frustration as they were unable to vote for the pair due to the show only allowing UK viewers to vote.
Upon his exit, the 62-year-old responded to a fan on X who told him to ‘keep going, keep busy and keep talking’.
“Thank you Jacob, I can never talk about my daughter Nika without getting upset because my heart is broken and it cannot be unbroken because I can never get her back and that is my sadness,” wrote McGuigan.
The comment came after the Monaghan man was evidently upset when speaking about the loss of his daughter on today’s (Friday) edition of Good Morning Britain.
“It’s the most devastating thing that has ever happened to me.
“Losing my daughter five years ago was dreadful. I never recovered from it, nor my wife. But I get better as time goes on,” he told hosts Kate Garraway and Rob Rinder.
Barry’s daughter Danika ‘Nika’ McGuigan died tragically aged 33 in 2019, five weeks after being diagnosed with bowel cancer.
