The best hotel restaurant in the country has been revealed at the YesChef Awards in Dundalk this week.
Taking place on Monday, May 8, the awards announced that the Shannon Springs Hotel in Clare had won the title of best hotel restaurant in Ireland.
Also competing in the group were the Waterfront House in Sligo, the Talbot Hotel in Dublin and Roe Park Resort in Derry.
Located in the middle of the Wild Atlantic Way, the Shannon Springs Hotel boasts having some of the best raw ingredients in the world on their doorstep, adopting an ethos of locally sourced produce in their kitchen.
The restaurant has also received an AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence.
Shane Smith, Managing Director of NI Media who run the awards said, “The YesChef Awards are recognised as the ‘Go To’ night in the industry calendar and we were delighted to welcome many old friends as well as numerous new entrants to the programme.
The restaurants here tonight represent the diversity of the industry on the island and showcase the commitment to delivering the highest standards in Irish Hospitality. We are the only programme on the island who inspect every entrant and we would like to thank our panel of dedicated researchers who travel the country visiting each venue.”
YesChef also announced Marlfield House in Wexford as the winners of best luxury hotel restaurant. They were competing against the likes of Knockranny House Hotel in Westport, The River Club in Cork City and Newry’s Killeavy Castle Estate. The Clontarf Castle in Dublin was also highly commended in the category.
