Gardaí investigating after body of man discovered in home in Cork

Gardaí are investigating “all circumstances” surrounding the discovery.

Gardaí are investigating all circumstances a man’s body was discovered at a house on Bandon Road in Cork city.

The man, aged in his 50s, was found by Gardaí on Saturday morning (7 September) shortly after 11.30am.

He has not been named.

At time of writing on Saturday afternoon, the scene is currently being examined by members of the Divisional Scene of the Crime Unit.

The office of the State Pathologist has been notified and a post-mortem examination is scheduled to be carried out.

Enquires are ongoing.

The course of a subsequent Gardaí investigation will be determined by the outcome of the post-mortem examination.
