The body was discovered at 11pm on Saturday night.
Gardaí in Donegal are investigating all possible circumstances following the discovery of the body of a 37-year-old man in Ballyshannon.
The alarm was raised when the deceased was found in a water-filled drain on the roadside at Cloghore on the main Ballyshannon to Beleek road at approximately 11pm on Saturday, 22 February.
At the time of writing on Sunday afternoon, his body remains at the scene as it is currently preserved for examination. The local coroner has been notified.
Investigating Gardaí have said that the course of the subsequent investigation into the man’s death will be determined by the outcome of a post-mortem examination.
