Body reportedly found in van pulled from River Lee in Cork

The discovery was made in the very early hours of Thursday morning.

It is reported that a body has been recovered from a van, which was pulled from the River Lee in Cork.

The vehicle is said to have entered the water around 3.30am on Thursday morning.

Speaking to JOE, the Garda Press Office confirmed that “a body has been recovered from the River Lee at 8am this morning.”

According to the Evening Echo, emergency services were called when the vehicle entered the water, with three units of Cork City Fire Service attending the scene, with support from Gardaí and other services.

However, lack of light restricted rescue efforts for some time but the van was pulled from the water several hours later.

The Garda Press Office confirmed that investigations are still ongoing.
