The body of a woman, confirmed by the Department of Foreign Affairs to be Irish, has been found on a beach in India.
The victim, who was in her late 20s, was found in Canacona, a coastal resort in Goa.
According to reports, she had injuries to her head and face and was severely beaten.
It is thought she was on holiday in the district with a friend and had arrived on Sunday. A murder investigation has been launched, with one person arrested in connection with the woman's death.
