Two is better than one.
Anyone who is a regular to the town of the tribe has definitely wandered into Boojum at the Spanish Parade House and it has become a stomping ground for a lot of students who crave a tasty lunch or dinner during their hectic college week.
Well, we have some great news as it has been announced on Thursday that Boojum 3 Limited has been granted planning permission to change an existing shop at 25 Eyre Square into a restaurant.
According to Galway Bay FM, the new Boojum will be located right beside The Skeff bar. This particular area of Galway (near The Skeff) has been short-lived homes to various food places over the last number of years including fast food establishment, Hillbilly’s.
The new food joint will have a seating area for 35 people and will have the same opening hours as the store at the Spanish Parade House, 11:30am to 10pm.
In the planning application, Boojum stated that their early closing time means that “there will be no late-night noise nuisances from the proposed restaurant.”
Furthermore, the new establishment will create 25 new jobs, some full-time and some part-time.
It has been described as a “welcome development for the city centre and would increase the attractiveness of Eyre Square for restaurant/food outlets. It would also help increase the pedestrian footfall on the western side of Eyre Square, and improve the streetscape by occupying a vacant building.”
