Dublin Airport has said that 15 flights have been cancelled so far, amidst Storm Dave, including seven departures and eight arrivals.
Named earlier in the week, Storm Dave made landfall in the Emerald Isle today (Saturday, 4 April).
A Status Yellow wind warning from Met Éireann is currently in effect for all of the Republic of Ireland. It is scheduled to last until 2am on Easter Sunday.
The alert states that Storm Dave will bring "very strong southerly winds, veering westerly by the evening with severe gusts and coastal gales".
Met Éireann notes that one possible impact of the storm is "difficult travelling conditions". Dublin Airport have also confirmed that its flight operations have already been affected and that "further disruption is possible".
A passenger update from the airport, issued on Saturday at 1pm, reads:
"Strong winds associated with Storm Dave are expected to impact flight operations at Dublin Airport later this afternoon and evening.
"So far today, airlines have cancelled 15 flights, including 7 departures and 8 arrivals.
"Further disruption is possible later this evening as winds are expected to strengthen.
"Passengers due to fly later today should contact their airline directly for updates regarding the status of their flight."
Storm Dave arrives as almost 450,000 passengers are expected to pass through Dublin Airport over Easter Weekend.
