Break out the woolly hats people, Ireland is in for an Arctic winter

Before you ask; yes, it is totally acceptable to wear a onesie to work…

Before you ask; yes, it is acceptable to wear a onesie to work…

We regret that it is our duty to inform you to prepare for freezing temperatures, snowfall and downright misery as Ireland is expected to have an absolutely Baltic winter.

According to Exacta Weather, unusually high Siberian snow cover as well as solar patterns and volcanic activity have combined to create the ideal conditions for an Arctic Winter.

The temperatures have been promised to plummet in the coming weeks and we are reportedly going to have one of the coldest winters in recent memory.

This is due to the weather front which usually holds the Arctic weather up North being uncharacteristically weak this year.

The cold weather prediction has been made by meteorologist James Madden of Exacta Weather. While we are undecided if he is a trustworthy source for your weather news, he did predict the most recent big freeze over Britain and Ireland in 2010.

However, we feel it is also necessary to say that last winter he predicted record breaking snowfall in Britain and they ended up having one of their mildest winters in years. Temperatures were actually 1.5 degrees Celsius above average for the period.

Our advice is to prepare for the worst but to expect the best… although the best in Ireland could still mean a lot of rain.
