Footage has been widely shared on social media.

The British Army has opened an investigation into a video circulating on social media that appears to show serving soldiers shooting at a picture of Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.

The video was first posted on Snapchat but has since been widely shared on other forms of social media.

In the clip, four soldiers thought to be in Kabul, Afghanistan, from the 3rd Battalion Parachute Regiment, appear to use the Labour leader as target practice.

The caption, “Happy with that”, can be seen at the bottom of the video.

“We are aware of a video circulating on social media, this behaviour is totally unacceptable and falls well below the high standards the Army expects, a full investigation has been launched,” an Army spokesperson said.

Tobias Ellwood, a minister at the UK’s Ministry of Defence, tweeted that he is looking into the video and described it as “unacceptable.”

A Labour Party spokesperson said the behaviour is “alarming and unacceptable. We have confidence in the MoD to investigate and act on this incident”.

According to ITV, the footage could date back to March 2018 but has only recently come to light.
