Salman Abedi, a British man of Libyan origin, has been identified as the person that carried out Monday’s suicide-bomb attack in Manchester, as reported by Politico.

Abedi, who was born in 1994, died at the scene after killing 22 others and injuring more than 50 others in the attack on concert goers at the Manchester Arena.

Theresa May had said earlier the authorities believed they knew the identity of the bomber.

UK authorities were waiting for DNA test results before announcing his identity, officials said.

Manchester police earlier announced that they had arrested a 23-year-old man in south Manchester in connection with the attack.

Another man was arrested at the Arndale Center, the city’s largest shopping mall, which was briefly evacuated earlier on Tuesday.

One of those arrested is Abedi’s brother, one of the security officials said.
