Want to know exactly how you’ve been affected by Budget 2019? Find out in a matter of seconds by entering a few details into the budget calculator.

On Tuesday afternoon, Minister for Finance Paschal Donohue announced the details of Budget 2019 in Dáil Éireann.

Amongst the main talking points were an increase in the price of cigarettes, an increase in the hourly minimum wage, the provision of two weeks parental leave and a provision of €110 million for ‘Brexit measures’; you can find a more detailed breakdown of the budget right here.

While there’s always plenty of interest in how the budget will affect things like the price of cigarettes and alcohol, social welfare etc., the main thing people want to know is how they’re going to be affected in their own pockets.

Thanks to the folks at Taxback.com, you can find out exactly that using their handy calculator below; all you have to do is fill in a few details about your age, marital status, annual pay, medical card and your children, if you have any.

If you’re married, meanwhile, there’s an option to provide some details about your spouse to see how you will be affected as a couple.

Once you’ve done that – and it literally takes a few seconds – the calculator will let you know your monthly and annual take home pay, as well as the difference Budget 2019 will make to your pocket once the measures flagged by Paschal Donohue have been implemented.
