Burger King pull “racist” chopsticks advert

The advert was removed following criticism online.

Burger King New Zealand have removed an advert which shows people trying to eat a burger with oversized red chopsticks following criticism on social media.

The fast food chain were advertising the launch of a new Vietnamese burger, that they said would "take your taste buds all the way to Ho Chi Minh City." Some people on social media have compared it to the racism row faced by fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana after they posted videos of a Chinese model eating Italian food with chopsticks in 2018, as part of an ad campaign.
