The cabinet will also look at solutions for people who have been subject to illegal birth registration.

Proposed legislation is set to be brought to Cabinet to allow adopted people to gain access to their birth certificates and other early life information.

Children’s Minister Roderic O’Gorman is set to bring the bill to the government, which would provide a right of access for adopted people in regards to their adoption and birth, The Irish Examiner reported on Tuesday.

It is understood the legislation will also address the request of biological parents who do not want to be identified.

O’Gorman is also set to bring proposals that will look at possible remedies for people who have been subject to illegal birth registration.

The new proposals would also allow people to inherit property and assets after finding out their parents were adoptive and not biological.

The legislation would “provide as much choice as possible in terms of remedies for people in this situation,” a government spokesman told the publication.

Ministers are also expected to meet to discuss solutions in regards to preventing property investment funds from buying up housing estates throughout Ireland.

It comes after they came under fire last week when an estate of 112 houses in Kildare was bought by an institutional investor.
