Over 200 staff to lose jobs as Cadbury announce they’re to stop making an iconic Snack bar

Collective day of mourning for Irish staff and chocolate lovers.

Cadbury’s Irish operations today announced that 160 jobs will be lost in Cork and Kerry, while the closure of their plant in Dublin will result in 45 full time job losses and 17 contract positions.

Justin Cook, Managing Director said, “we very much regret that these proposed changes would require role reductions. We are committed to working fairly and respectfully with employees and their representatives through the consultation processes that will now commence.”

Additionally, the chocolate manufacturer also announced that have that the iconic Pink Snack bar will cease production by the end of 2015, while the future of the TimeOut is also under review.

A spokesperson said, “From the end of 2015 the Coolock plant will no longer produce wafer brands Time Out and Pink Snack, sales of which have been in decline for a number of years”.
