Tragic news.

The body of a man in his 30s was recovered in a river in Carlow following a drowning incident on Wednesday (10 August). Gardaí are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the recovery of the body from the River Barrow in Graiguecullen at approximately 9.20pm. It is understood the man got into difficulty while swimming in the river on Wednesday evening. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was brought to University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem will take place at a later date.
