In time for some short summer breaks.

Center Parcs Longford Forest has announced that the long-awaited forest resort will officially open on Monday, 29 July and they’re officially taking bookings.

The project cost over €220 million and JOE had a peek behind the scenes a short while ago which you can read all about here.

Center Parcs is a European network of holiday villages that has risen to popularity in the UK over the past number of years, mostly among families.

Set amongst 400 acres of woodlands, the resort includes 466 self-catering lodges and 30 apartments. In total, the forest resort will welcome up to 2,500 guests during each short break.

There are three types of lodges for families to choose from – Woodland, Executive and Exclusive. They’re all designed with family in mind.

There will be more than 100 indoor and outdoor activities, a luxury spa, a range of restaurants, cafés and shops and the popular Subtropical Swimming Paradise with water rides.

It’s set to be Ireland’s largest indoor water park and is heated to a tropical 29.5C all year round.
