The legendary broadcaster has made a request of his followers for when he passes.
Charlie Bird has reiterated a call to his followers to continue to support his wife Claire and dog Tiger after his death.
The veteran Irish journalist and broadcaster, 74, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2021 and later made headlines for climbing Croagh Patrick in order to raise money for Pieta and the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.
The initial fundraising goal was €1 million though the campaign went on to raise over over €3.6 million.
In a Twitter update earlier this month, Charlie confirmed that he has seen a further deterioration in his health, stating that he now has to be “hoisted in and out bed”.
My heath has changed completely. I now have to be hoisted in and out of bed.I want to thank my neighbours and carers for all they are doing for me.I was honoured I was able to join the Stardust relatives yesterday marking the 43rd anniversary of that dreadful night.
